Manhattan Art is a well-respected and thriving Art Academy in New York, New Jersey, and Korea. We’ve got a history of commitment toward our students and our artists. While we’re dedicated to producing our own art and community art, we’re also devoted to bringing the artist out to our students. Offering classes to adults, teens, and International Students in both group settings and private lessons, there’s something for anyone looking to foster their inner Picasso. We strive to instill creativity and teach form and function to all artists and guests who come to Manhattan Art seeking a fun, relaxing, and well-rounded artistic experience.

Individual creativity comes alive when redefining and expressing three-dimensional objects and images, leading to the discovery of artistic imagination and the nature of academic art. The process is more important than the result. The pieces that are preferred and selected for a college portfolio arise from the process of learning the foundation principles of art as well as those that come from personal history. At Manhattan Art, we put more importance on the natural evolution of artistic ability than “results” and strive to develop a student’s personal artistic history.

Preparing a portfolio will develop a strong foundation and serve as a valuable investment for the future. Having a strong artistic foundation will have a substantial influence on getting into college, doing well within it, and having a successful career. An artist’s success depends on the strength of their artistic foundations.


+++PHOTOCOPIES AND COMMERCIAL ART+++
Copying two-dimensional photos omits the redefinition of objects, and is an obstacle to creative development since it traps the student into a habit of mindlessly transferring borders and colors onto a medium. Today’s best schools in international academic art prohibit copying from photographs and have labeled them as their ideas.

We are saddened by the state of art academies today and reject exaggerated advertisements, illegal practices, and cutting corners. We approach the instruction of art and assistance in college admissions much like a parent views a promising child.
